All students are required to bring a Yoga mat and 2 cork Yoga blocks to class.

Class Descriptions


Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga:

Mysore Style is the traditional way to learn Ashtanga Yoga. This is a self practice session with adjustments and individual assistance, where new poses are given one by one as the student becomes ready to progess. This class is suitable for practitioners of both Primary and  Intermediate series and 'Cheat sheets' will be available for those who have not yet memorized the sequence. This class is not for complete beginners who have no experience  of Ashtanga and I recommend you gain some familiarity with the series of poses in my 9am class first. 

Not everyone's practice will take a full 1 hour 45 minutes so you can arrive anytime up to 7:45, but please do so respectfully and quietly. When you conclude your practice take rest for as long as you choose and then leave quietly. 15 minutes before the end of class you will be advised to wrap up your practice and take rest if not doing so already, at the end of class the tingsha will let you know it is time to come to standing for closing mantra if you are still present. 


Beginners & Improvers Ashtanga Yoga:

Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional style of Yoga that links movement to breath and will build both strength and flexbility. This one hour class is the best starting point as pose modifications and progressions will be offered to make this suitable for all levels and the most beginner friendly class I offer. (Please get in touch first if you have any specific health or mobility concerns as it is still challenging and dynamic.) 

This class runs in half term blocks that start in January at complete beginner level and progresses throughout the year, with specific focuses during different terms such as core work and headstand, or wrists and backbends.  Drop in spaces will only be available if and when the course option is not fully booked. 


For both classes please bring your own mat. It is possible to book a whole half term in advance for a reduced rate.
